British fine jewellery brand, Loquet London, sees its online international orders increase by 138% within just one year

The Challenge

Loquet London was selling its jewellery collection and customised lockets online to shoppers worldwide since the brand’s launch. However, many barriers prevented the brand from maximising its international sales. The online store supported only three currencies (GBP, USD and EUR) and accepted payments only via a limited number of methods – major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and American Express) and PayPal.

Furthermore, many international customers experienced difficulties making payments through the website and would instead opt to give their credit card details over the telephone. The brand was also facing many customer queries regarding duties and taxes; many international customers did not understand how much they needed to pay and whether the duties and taxes were included within the final purchase cost. As the AOV of jewellery as a luxury item frequently exceeds the local import duties threshold in many markets worldwide, this hampered the brand’s conversion rates and was one its main pain points in trying to enhance its global sales.

Loquet London was seeking a solution that would help them to increase their international sales and expand their global reach into new international markets by removing all barriers preventing international shoppers from purchasing on their website. The Results

Within one year of partnering with Global-e, Loquet London has seen a remarkable rise in their cross-border online sales: a 110% increase in conversion rates across all international markets, an increase of 138% in international online orders across all markets, and an 82% increase in international revenues. This substantial growth has been seen in all key markets, and notably in the US, the brand’s largest international market, which has seen its number of international orders more than double.

The seamless, localised shopping experience and support of a wide range of local and alternative payment methods enables customers to pay with the same payment methods that they would use for local transactions, which also increases conversion rates. In the Netherlands, for example, where the number of orders grew by 167%, 65% of shoppers choose to pay using Klarna and iDeal, which are more popular than credit cards and PayPal combined:
